In the Navy

I just received this amazing sweater from Chicwish and I am in love. I obviously love the stripes but the fit is so different from any other sweater I currently own that I know I will be wearing it all the time this fall. Shorter sleeves and a more boxy cut, the sweater has dropped shoulders and a looser fit which makes it super comfy.  It’s a good material, which I tend to be picky about and isn’t itchy at all (which I really hate). I’ve styled it four ways for you, and I can’t wait to put each outfit to use!

August Favorites!

It’s the beginning of September and sadly we are moving away from the summer. I do love the fall (and my birthday is this month) but I am not a fan of the cold weather and fall to me always means winter is coming soon. With the new month, comes last month’s favorite IG looks. I am slowly transitioning my outfits from tank tops and dresses back to jeans and long sleeves and the clothes I’m buying need to work for the warmer weather, now, as well as for the cooler upcoming weather.  Enjoy!

Vest Obsessed

While I am not a fan of the colder weather, I do love fall clothing and vests are some of my favorite layering items. Simple puffer vests are not only warm but go so well with so many different outfits. I may have one too many but since I wear them so much during the fall I don’t feel too bad about my collection. I put together a group of this season’s colors and styles for you. Which is your favorite?

1- Jcrew Factory Printed Quilted Puffer Vest
2- Jcrew Excursion Quilted Down Vest
3- Old Navy Women’s Quilted Zip Vest Chambray Print
4- Old Navy Women’s Quilted Zip Vest Forest Floor
5- Banana Republic Quilted Field Vest
6- Jcrew Factory Quilted Puffer Vest
7- Old Navy Women’s Quilted Vest Red Check
8- SAM. Camo Freedom Vest

GridLock

I bought this top from Express a little while ago and was a bit stumped on how to wear it. I decided to do a blog post featuring it as a way for me to come up with ideas on how I can wear it as the weather gets a bit cooler over the next couple of months. I love the grid pattern, especially because it reminds me of stripes, which of course I love. The top is a great fit and very flattering. The Portofino tops from Express are amazing, the colors and patterns are great and they are always coming out with new ones in case you get bored of the ones you already have.

It’s Vintage Baby

I was lucky enough to be asked to collaborate with the amazing online vintage jewelry boutique CS Gems to style one of their beautiful necklaces. The boutique re-purposes vintage pieces. In the case of the necklace I styled, parts from a broken vintage necklace were combined with a modern statement necklace to, as they put it, “make vintage modern again.” I think it’s a wonderful idea and their results are so beautiful. Because the necklace makes a statement on its own, I chose to keep my outfit simple (minus the leopard clutch) and let the necklace speak for itself. CS Gems has also been gracious enough to give my readers the opportunity to purchase anything from their boutique with a 15% off discount using the code FASHION15. A direct link to the amazing necklace I am wearing is

Head over to their blog to see how they have also styled the necklace I am wearing two different ways!

Cargo Hold

Considering my love of all thinks olive and khaki green, it should come as no surprise to you that I love cargo and military jackets. They go with almost everything, they are the perfect fall coat and they come in a ton of styles and “colors.” I have rounded up a bunch of them for you from all my favorite stores and all at various price points. Which one is your favorite?

Embroidered Dream

I have really been loving the embroidered trend lately. The dresses, skirts and tunics are so pretty and perfect for summer. This Chicwish embroidered tunic is no exception and is especially gorgeous with the colored, embroidered pattern on the top. I couldn’t wait to try it on as soon as I received it, as evidenced by the photo I posted to IG a couple of days ago. Light, flowy and beautifully detailed, this tunic really is perfect. On a side note – to all my fellow short ladies, you could even pull this off as a dress as it is more than long enough. To all my pregnant ladies, I would have loved this as a maternity top, it falls so beautifully and has so much room to grow as you do!

Update: Unfortunately it seems I took too long to publish this blog post and the top is unavailable at the moment. I have linked a few very similar alternatives here, here and here until the top is available again.
